Kyle made it safely to Indonesia on Christmas Eve. Although most of his flights were delayed, him and the other missionaries traveling with him, were able to make all of their connecting flights. He was tired, well 'wasted' was his wording, and stepped outside to 90 degree weather and high humidity. He called from the Salt Lake Airport and sounded excited and so great!
He was also able to call on Christmas Day...it was about 8 Christmas morning. He was the last missionary to call, and then he was going to bed...since it was 10 Christmas night there in Indonesia. At this point, he was slightly more adjusted, but still tired and getting adjusted. He was going to do some training, and then he would go to his first area, which will last him a couple of weeks until his visa gets all taken care of. After which he will be going to a more rural area further away from the city of Jakarta.
It was so great to talk to him, I know we all enjoyed it! He sounds great and I know that he was excited to get out into the field. All of us here are excited to get his first email...find out how his first week has been going!
